HOMEWORK:

-Daily reading, math homelinks, and spelling
-Signing of assignment book nightly

Monthly Reading Assignments:

To encourage comprehension and frequent reading, we have a monthly reading assignment. This is assigned at the beginning of each month and is due at the end of the month.

Spelling:

Every other Monday a pretest is given, if your child gets 0-1 incorrect they are eligible for the challenge list. Lists are distributed by Tuesday of the same week. The following Wednesday, a test is given, if your child passes, they have a free period during regular testing time on Fridays.

Math:

Students have Math Study links for reinforcement of that day’s lesson. Study links are usually nightly homework. Please do not have your child go ahead, as the information in the study link pertains to the lessons from the math program. Reference books can be checked out as needed.

Book Orders:

Each month your child will have the opportunity to order books from the book order. Please make checks payable to Scholastic. There may be more than one book order at a time and all book orders can be paid for on one check. Please include your check and order form inside an envelope with your student’s name on the front. Another option is to order online and use our class code. This code is GLJ8Q.

Birthday Treats/Snacks:

We have a total of 25 students this year if you are interested in sending in birthday treats. Please send any utensils/paper products that may be needed to serve the treat as well.NO NUTS or ITEMS MADE IN A FACTORY THAT MAY CONTAIN NUTS

Behavior Expectations:

All students are expected to contribute to a supportive learning environment. Students are expected to follow the classroom and school rules.

I am looking forward to a great school year with you and your child!
