All About Mrs. Majewski

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 2018-19 school year!   My name is Jane Majewski and I will be your child’s teacher.  I am very excited to begin the school year, and I look forward to meeting all of you very soon.

I live in Milford with my husband, Greg and our two sons Owen (14) and Ethan (13). This will be my 25th  year teaching.   I began my teaching career in South Lyon, where I taught first, second, fourth, and fifth grade.   I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Michigan State University with a major in Social Science, and a minor in Language Arts.  I went on to get my Master’s in Reading from Eastern Michigan University.  Teaching children to read has always been a passion of mine.  Therefore, when the opportunity arose to come to Livonia and receive training to become a Reading Recovery Teacher  (a 1st grade reading intervention) I jumped at the chance.  In 2000, I came to Kennedy as the Reading Recovery teacher/ Learning Specialist.   After six years as a Reading Recovery teacher/ Learning Specialist, I was ready for a change.   In 2006, I went back to teaching first grade, and I loved every minute of it.

I am extremely excited to be back teaching first grade.    The children grow so much during this year.  I strongly believe that every student can learn.  It is my goal to take each child from where he or she is, and provide him/her with a learning environment that will enable him/her to grow academically, socially, and emotionally to his/her highest potential.  My goal is for us to work as a team, parents and teacher, to give each child the support needed to succeed.

Please feel free to send in a note, call or email me with any questions or concerns you may have.  Working together, we can provide a wonderful experience for your child.  Email is probably the easiest way to get in touch with me.  My email address is  I look forward to meeting you.
