Get To Know Mrs. Sayen and Our Kindergarteners!

Mrs. Sayen’s Kindergarten Class

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to Kindergarten at Kennedy! This is going to be a very exciting and educational year for your student. I look forward to getting to know your child and your family over the school year. I just wanted to touch base and share a few things about myself so you can better get to know me.

My name is Rachel Sayen, and I grew up on Grosse Ile, a small island in the Detroit River. I live in Allen Park with my amazing husband, Jimmy and our baby girl, Mia.

I attended Central Michigan University (fire up chips!) where I obtained a degree in Special Education (k-12), Elementary Education, a minor in child development and my ZA endorsement. I completed my Masters in Educational Technology at Madonna University and look forward to sharing my knowledge with your little one.

This is my 8th official year working for Livonia Public Schools. I have taught at Stevenson High School, Holmes Middle School, and Kennedy Elementary. This is my 7th year teaching kindergarten at Kennedy and I am so excited!

I have been surrounded by children my entire life. My mom had an in-home daycare where I knew at a young age that I wanted to work with children. My passion in life is kids!

You can find important information and class updates on the ClassDojo app. The best form of communication is ClassDojo and/or email, as I try to check it multiple times a day. If I don’t respond within 24 hours please send me a note in your child’s folder. Problems with spam mail have been known to happen in the past.

I look forward to working with your kindergartner this year! We are going to learn so much and have fun while doing so. My dedication, drive, and love for all my students will help guide them in the right direction down their road of education!
